The Sandman Hotel Vancouver Airport offers a convenient and practical option for travelers with layovers, featuring competitive pricing and a shuttle service to the airport. While guests consistently appreciate the friendly staff and efficient service, concerns regarding cleanliness and outdated facilities have been raised in recent reviews.
Stayed here for about 6 hours during a layover and it worked out perfectly. It ended up being cheaper than spending time in an airport lounge, and getting real rest in a comfortable bed was far better than trying to sleep in airport seats. The room was clean, check-in was easy, and it served exactly what we needed during a short stop between flights. If you have a longer layover at Vancouver Airport and want proper rest, this is a very practical option.
The carpets had an inch of dust around the edges behind the luggage holder . You can see it does not get moved because when I moved it, there was a sunflower seed just under the baseboard. Behind and to the side of the dresser just under the tv and up the wall had a lot of dust. The baseboard beside the bed was also dirty like someone spilled a liquid on it. Baseboards including fixtures were noticeably dusty. The carpet was scary dirty and had a big wrinkle a few feet into the entrance, which is a trip hazzard. The bathroom was clean so I elected to take a shower. The shower gel container was empty. This hotel is one of three hotels on the ecommendation list by Air Canada when they offer a voucher,. I wonder if they are aware! Address is 10251 St. Edwards drive Richmond b.c. very nice staff I must say so was the shuttle driver.
I had a great experience with the front desk thanks to Manpreet. She was professional, welcoming, and extremely helpful throughout my stay. She handled everything efficiently and always greeted me with a warm smile, which made a big difference. Excellent customer service—Manpreet is a real asset to the hotel??
Picked this hotel and because it was near the airport and provided "park and stay" which meant we could leave our car here while we were on vacation. We paid extra for this. Upon arrival we were told to drive to another Sandman hotel to park there as this parking lot was full. I was not told this on the phone when I booked and reserved parking. So we arrived here, had to leave to park at another Sandman, and take a cab back. (Sandman paid for taxi). Except I had things at the hotel like a large contact solution, a large Stanley mugz toothpaste large size ( can't take these things with carry on only flight), pajamas I was wearing that night that I wouldn't take on vacation, Sweat pants I wore that day that I was going to be leaving in the car also not taking on a hot vacation. So we had to get up extra extra early the next morning and cab again to the other hotel, put this stuff in our vehicle, then cab back to the Sandman we slept at. And I was told we would be parking at the hotel we were staying at here. Not a mass parking lot next to a different Sandman. Inconvenient, unprofessional, and a complete joke.
We arrived early and didn't expect our room to be ready. But it was, The beds are comfortable. This hotel is always friendly and Moxies is right on site. The shuttle runs 2 time a hour to the airport. The pool is small and hot tub is hot. Tim Hortons and dollar store and A&W are just across the street, Costco is 2 blocks away. And a Uber to sky train cost less then 10.00. This is a great hotel.
The level of service provided by Ahmed and Guri was excellent. They were courteous, attentive, and professional at all times. Their ability to anticipate my needs, resolve concerns efficiently in the room, and maintain a friendly demeanour nicely enhanced our stay and reflected the hotel's commitment to quality hospitality.
?????????? 5/5 – Exceptional Service from Clara at Sandman Hotel I’d like to highlight the outstanding service provided by Clara, the front desk officer at Sandman Hotel. From the moment I arrived, she made the entire check-in experience smooth, welcoming, and hassle-free. Her warm personality and professionalism immediately stood out. Clara was incredibly attentive, answered all my questions patiently, and made sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. You can really tell she takes pride in her work and genuinely cares about the guests. Small details—like her friendly smile, clear communication, and willingness to assist—made a huge difference in my overall experience. Employees like Clara are the reason guests feel valued and choose to return. Sandman Hotel is lucky to have someone as dedicated and exceptional as her at the front desk. Highly recommended—thank you, Clara, for the amazing service!
We were greeted very pleasantly by Bharat. He was awesome and allowed us to check in a bit early. He was so gracious and informative made a great start to our vacation! I think we have found the perfect hotel on future visits to Vancouver!
This is a charming and cozy hotel. We stayed for two nights in a spacious two-stroke suite. While the pool is on the smaller side, it's delightful, specially since it's heated, and they also have a relaxing jacuzzi. The hotel restaurant offers a lovely atmosphere and great breakfast options. Special thanks to David at the front desk, who was always so helpful and welcoming with a smile.
I would rate this hotel 0 stars if I could. The front desk service was very disappointing, the woman staff on duty around 5 PM showed no patience and provided no guidance in helping me locate my room, which was difficult to find. The room itself was below basic standards: missing a TV remote, no water heater, and not even a complimentary bottle of water. Given these issues, the quality did not match the expectations set by the online reviews. I strongly recommend double checking those reviews before booking. With many better alternatives available in Vancouver, I cannot recommend this hotel.
