The Steveston Hotel offers a convenient location in Steveston, walkable to shops and attractions, and boasts friendly staff. While praised for its charm and breakfast, recent reviews highlight issues with hot water, outdated decor, and noise levels. It’s a good value option if you manage expectations for a historic property.
I love in Steveston and went there for breakfast this morning! And the place apparently had a fire on roof, the had no heat! I froze so I won't be returning to eat there!
The Steveston was a great option given the price and location in relation to Vancouver. The front desk staff was nice and the onsite parking is one less worry to have during traveling. Overall, it was a nice stay. My issues came in during settling in. I got one of the rooms with a jacuzzi included, and when filling it, the water had these brown specks floating throughout. Most likely from the pipes. So I did not take the plunge. The windows are also not sound proof, and my room being right above the bar, you can imagine how the chatter from conversations outside bleeds through. I would say overall The Steveston is a 4 star experience as you pay for such. I would stay here again knowing what I know but would caution those looking for a luxurious stay that this isn’t it. But it is still worth it.
Great spot for breakfast or lunch , still has the good ole steveston charm. don’t mind the old mugs , it’s part of the charm :) the waitress has been there forever and is a real gem
Breakfast down stairs was the best. Go for the $10 meal! Hotel staff friendly. It was more than what I expected. This place is walkable to pier and all the shops
Loved this place. Staff was funny and friendly. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and the a/c worked great. It's just a simple old historic little hotel. No bells or whistles but a great location. We will stay here again.
This hotel is a GREAT location. Walking distance to everything in Steveston. This is a more convenient location than the only other hotel in town. The only downfall was 2 of our 5 mornings, we had no hot water :( they said they had boiler issues. It is an 1895 hotel, but if they are having that many problems with hot water, they should upgrade it. The staff were all very friendly. The rooms were a little outdated. Bathrooms were great, but they had old 90s curtains and brass ceiling fans. Could use a little updating. Overall, great experience at this hotel and we very much enjoyed the Steveston area :)
We stayed at this hotel for the first 3 nights of our trip across the Canadian Rockies from Vancouver to Calgary. We chose this Richmond based hotel to keep our costs down as Vancouver hotels are v expensive. It was good & whilst not great as the room decor was a little tired, it was clean & comfortable. The shower/bathroom area was immaculately clean & has been done brand new. Don't pay attention to the reviews on here about the noise from the Buck & Ear pub downstairs as it was closed & theres a sign on the front door saying "closed for good", so as a place to stay I would recommend this place. It deserves its 3 star rating & I would happily stay here again.
Hotel Review. Room was great. Rooms are on the second level with no elevator. We live in Canada and Canadian Cash should not be able to be refused. This place will only accept credit card. I understand credit card for the deposit and security deposit reasons..... but I stay at hotels all the time and you should be able to switch to cash on check out.
Went for brunch with two others and had an overall decent time. Service was great and our waitress had good character! Food was pretty greasy though. We all ordered very different brunch foods and each one was greasy in its own way, and wasn’t pleasant. The rest of our experience was good. Had an issue with one of our meal not having the correct side and our waitress did a great job resolving the issue. I could see this being a great hangover cure place for breakfast or brunch!
This historic building is charming, quaint and sweet. We stayed one night and had breakfast at the cafe in the morning. CAFE Review: delicious, good prices with excellent portions. The service was great too. Felt right at home. HOTEL Review: Service was excellent, they accomodated our late night check-in, was easy to coordinate with them. This is an old hotel, established in 1895; so check your expectations before you enter. The hotel could use some TLC and better maintenance. However I would still come back!
