The Comfort Hotel Vancouver Airport receives mixed reviews, primarily focused on inconsistent service and concerns about cleanliness and amenities. While some guests appreciate the convenient location and free airport shuttle, others report issues with staff professionalism, outdated facilities, and cleanliness problems. Recent reviews suggest improvements are underway, but significant challenges remain.
I booked the Comfort Hotel Vancouver Airport on May 12 for a one-night stay. At the time of check-in (4:30 pm BC time), I attempted to pay using my BMO Visa card, but the payment machine at the front desk did not accept it. I immediately contacted my bank, who confirmed there were no issues on their end. To verify, I used the same card at Starbucks shortly afterward, and it worked without any problems. I then returned to the hotel to try again, but the card still did not go through. During this interaction, the receptionist on duty and the manager were unprofessional and dismissive, and I felt I was being treated unfairly. For further confirmation, I used my card at the SureStay Hotel, where it worked immediately, and I was treated professionally and respectfully. As a person of colour, I also left feeling that I was not treated with the same level of courtesy and respect that should be expected in such situations. Based on my experience, I found the staff at Comfort Hotel Vancouver Airport to be rude and unprofessional in how the matter was handled. I would advise others to be aware of this experience when considering this hotel.
Not sure what's up with all the bad reviews. This is a budget hotel, you should not expect a 5* experience. But I found it great - rooms were really nice (try to call ahead for a park-side room), clean, comfy ... no weird smells. Hotel is beside a nice park with a lake and many restaurants. There's an airport shuttle (why we stayed here). The driver was late, rude, and wore a hoodie while driving (dangerous). Luckily there was coffee in the lobby before our 4:15am ride! There's breakfast at 6:30, and little food bags of you leave before. Nice touch. The staff could be a bit friendlier, but that's usually a problem with upper management either not paying enough or having a bad trickle-down attitude.
perfect stop over hotel. Shuttle leaves every 30 min, 30/00 from yvr and 15/45 from hotel. great mattresses/pillows. room was clean. breakfast was eggs, sausages, pancakes ( awesome auto machine), fruit, yogurt, bread, oatmeal, cereal. Shuttle and front desk staff were friendly.
The staff were very nice. If you are looking for a more affordable place to stay around Vancouver airport, also including shuttle, this is a good place to stay. Plus they offer free breakfast, which is nice. There’s nothing too fancy, but it is good for the price you paid. The room was quite simple, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good. Also, we had to pay for parking. It is a simple hotel but it’s good if you’re looking for something on a cheaper side
On my return flight to Vancouver, I arrived and attempted to call the hotel for an hour without and success, as it stated online thst you need to contact them to get a pickup with their shuttle. I ended up having to pay a flat rate taxi 33$. I mentioned this to the front desk abd they said they'd work on reimbursing the fee, I never heard back from her. And then I attempted once more to speak to front desk a week later. They also said they'd return my call, and never did. I chose this hotel for the shuttle service and was let down and stuck with an expensive cab ride and stay at their hotel (which was meant to include a shuttle ride). Not happy with the service at all.
This is my hidden gem when I visit. Right next to Minoru Park, 15 minutes to the sky train station and Richmond Centre, this place is great. $13/night for parking. I'm a light sleeper, so the road side is a bit loud for me, but Aditya went above and beyond and helped find me a wonderful alternative. Thank you so much! Update as of 02/16: Suraiya helped me out with extending the time in my room without having to move out! Thank you so much!
Just stayed for a layover but this hotel was very accommodating and easy. The shuttle was efficient, rooms were clean and staff was friendly. I had to take the shuttle to the airport at 445 which is before they serve breakfast. However they provided me with a little bag of breakfast snacks !
Absolute scam and trash service. I stayed here for work, barely used the room, and came back late only to sleep. After checkout, they secretly charged my card $150 with ZERO notice. No call, no explanation, nothing. When I tried to speak to a supervisor, she ignored my calls and instead sent a ridiculous photo of a tiny bent edge on a bed frame and blamed me for it. That so-called “damage” could be fixed with a drop of glue, yet they shamelessly charged $150. Pure money-grabbing and dishonest behavior. On top of that, when I called the front desk earlier just to ask about a shuttle, the staff rudely said “we don’t provide shuttle” and literally hung up on me. That alone shows how unprofessional and disrespectful this place is. Zero customer service, zero ethics. This hotel looks for excuses to steal money and treats guests like garbage. I will NEVER stay here again and strongly warn others — stay far away unless you want your money taken and to be treated horribly.
The experience was very disappointing overall. The hallways were extremely loud, even around midnight, which made it very difficult to sleep. On top of that, there was a strong vomit-like smell on my pillow and bed sheets. Unfortunately, I had to endure that odor throughout the entire morning, which was completely unacceptable. Because of the dryness in the room and the unpleasant smell, I woke up around 4 a.m. and was unable to go back to sleep. The room also did not feel properly cleaned, and overall housekeeping did not meet even basic standards. Additionally, the shuttle service was extremely frustrating. I was told that the shuttle had arrived and waited for two minutes, which was not true. I was standing at the designated shuttle pickup area the entire time, where all shuttles normally stop, and there was no shuttle present. Because of this misinformation, I had to wait for another bus later, causing unnecessary delay. That said, I do want to compliment the front desk, especially a staff member named Kelzang. She was extremely professional, helpful, and clearly very good at her job. Her service was genuinely the only positive part of this stay.
We needed a room close to the hospital because I had surgery in the morning. The location was also great because it's close to the park and I was able to walk in the park at night and again before my surgery which I thought was absolutely great. My husband loved the breakfast in the hotel. And the king size bed was decent.
